Payment for the application, survey, and background check is due when the VAWD application is submitted. An annual fee is also charged to maintain accreditation.

Credit card payment may be made online during the application process. Payments in the form of certified check, cashier's check, money order, or company check may also be sent via mail; NABP must receive such payments within 14 days of application submission.

The cost of VAWD accreditation is applied as follows:
Total application and survey fee: $5,500

• Application fee: $2,500 (this includes the first-year annual participation fee)
• Survey fee: $3,000

In addition, a background check fee is applied: $175 per person

Wholesale distributors awarded accreditation pay an annual participation fee (incurred after the first year of accreditation). The annual participation fee is due before accreditation is renewed.

The cost for annual participation is as follows:

• Annual participation fee during a year when a survey is not required: $1,000
• Annual participation fee during a year when a survey is required: $4,000 (includes $1,000 annual participation fee and $3,000 survey fee)
