William J. Cover, RPh, Elected to Serve as Member of NABP Executive Committee at Association's 107th Annual Meeting

William J. Cover, RPh, was elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 4, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy^® (NABP^®) during the Association’s 107th Annual Meeting, May 21-24, 2011, in San Antonio, TX.

Mr Cover, a member of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy since 2005, currently serves as president of the Board. He was also appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels to serve as a member of the Indiana Health Information Technology Advisory Council. Currently, he is the corporate manager of pharmacy affairs for Walgreens Pharmacy.

An active member of NABP, Mr Cover has served as a member of the Committee on Law Enforcement/Legislation and as chairperson of the Committee on Resolutions at two annual meetings. He has also served as a member of the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination^® (MPJE^®) Review Committee and as an item writer for the MPJE. In addition, Mr Cover was a member of the Task Force on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and the US Drug Distribution System.

As part of his work on the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy, Mr Cover has participated in several committees addressing pharmacy practice issues. He chaired the Board’s Pharmacist Immunization Sub-Committee and Pharmacy Security Sub-Committee, and he co-chaired the Pharmacy Technology Sub-Committee. He also served as a member of the Antiviral Pandemic Influenza Committee.
Mr Cover has served as president and is a member of the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance, Community Pharmacy Academy. He is also a member of the American Pharmacists Association and the Michigan Pharmacists Association.

Mr Cover earned a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Purdue University School of Pharmacy.
