Topics: Controlled substances

Published in the October 2009 Washington State Board of Pharmacy Newsletter

At the September 17, 2009 Washington State Board of Pharmacy meeting, the Board changed rules to add the drug carisoprodol to Schedule IV controlled substances. After considering evidence and testimony at the public rules hearing, the Board determined that the potential for abuse and risk to public safety warranted the change. The rule goes into effect 31 days after it is filed with the Washington State Code Reviser’s Office.
