USP Revises Logo to Represent Updated Mission Statement and New Strategic Plan

United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) has a developed a new logo representing the organization’s updated mission statement. USP’s revised mission statement is as follows: “To improve global health through public standards and related programs that help ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and foods.” The previous language, “the health of people around the world” was revised to “global health” in order to reflect a focus on supporting animal and human health on a global basis. The new logo is a representation of the revised mission statement as well as USP’s new strategic plan, which focuses on five areas:

  1. Strengthening and expanding USP’s core compendial activities
  2. Building and enhancing USP’s allied compendial programs
  3. Exploring and evaluating emerging health opportunities
  4. Operating globally to maximize USP’s impact throughout the world
  5. Managing all USP programs, products, and services efficiently and effectively

The new logo features a custom font, a new tagline, and the full USP organization name. An explanation of each element of the new logo is available on the USP Web site.
