Survey Finds Many Consumers Keep Expired OTC Medications
A study of consumers across the nation shows that 40% of United States households surveyed have at least one expired over-the-counter (OTC) medication in the home and that 55% would likely use an expired medication. The "2010 Over-The-Counter Household Inventory and Consumer Attitude Study" was conducted by Walgreens and also revealed that most consumers are surprised to find that they have expired OTCs. Further, 60% dispose of medications in the household garbage. More information is available in a press release.
