Resolution No. 98-2-02
Title: Support for Legislation Supporting Pharmacist Education

Whereas, there is demonstrated value to the public health because of the role pharmacists assume in the American healthcare system and the provision of pharmaceutical care services; and

Whereas, the existing shortage of pharmacists poses a significant danger to the public health and safety because of the absence of pharmacist services; and

Whereas, federal funding is needed to support the efforts of colleges and schools of pharmacy to expand the current enrollments;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NABP urge boards to actively support bills under consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives that provide assistance to colleges and schools of pharmacy to increase their enrollments and further urge members of boards of pharmacy to contact their elected representatives to inform them of the serious need for their support of these efforts.
