Special Programming at NABP's 101st Annual Meeting Offers Opportunity to Learn About the Association, Network with Other Attendees
As with years past, attendees will not want to miss the special programming offered at the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®'s (NABP®) 101st Annual Meeting, "A Medley for Patient Safety: Accreditation, Self Assessment, Quality Care," held May 21-24, 2005, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, LA. In addition to the recurring New Member Seminar and Meet the Candidates Session, NABP is pleased to offer new programming, the District Nominating Procedures Review, as well as a special session, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Open Hearing on PharmD Standards Revision.
During the District Nominating Procedures Review session on Saturday, May 21, from 1 to 2:30 PM, board members will have the opportunity to review the procedures used at the district meetings regarding the member nomination process as well as the nomination process for 2006-2007 Executive Committee open officer and member positions. The New Member Seminar, also held on Saturday, from 2:45 to 5 PM, offers new state board of pharmacy members, or those attending their first NABP Annual Meeting, an in-depth look at the Association's programs and services.
The Meet the Candidates Session, which will provide attendees with the chance to interact with candidates running for open officer and member positions on the NABP Executive Committee, will be held from 1:15 to 2:45 PM on Monday, May 23. Lunch will be served during this interactive session. On Monday, May 23, from 4:15 to 5:30 PM, the ACPE Open Hearing on PharmD Standards Revision will offer meeting participants the opportunity to comment on the First Draft of ACPE's Revised Standards that were approved by its Board of Directors in January 2005. The hearing will consist of an overview of the Draft Standards by ACPE staff and an outline of the proposed activities and timeline until January 2006, when formal adoption of the Revised Standards will tentatively occur; however, the majority of the session will be devoted to audience comments and questions.
