Seven in New Jersey Face Federal Charges of Illegal Oxcodone Distribution
New Jersey pharmacist Vincent Hsia and six other individuals face federal charges related to their alleged involvement in the illegal distribution of oxycodone. A 26-count superseding indictment was filed on August 29, 2011, against Hsia, the proprietor of Lincoln Pharmacy Network, located in Edison, NJ, and against the following individuals: Ryan Otskey, Ivan Lugo, Cheryle Sutter, Keith Thompson, Gary Cross, and Angelo Cifelli. The superseding indictment charges these individuals with possessing with intent to distribute and conspiring to distribute oxycodone, as explained in a FBI press release. Eight additional individuals pleaded guilty in 2010 to charges filed in the preceding criminal complaint related to their involvement in this illegal oxycodone distribution scheme. Special Agents with the DEA Tactical Diversion Squad, FBI, and Internal Revenue Service–Criminal Investigation, and police departments, county prosecutors, and sheriff’s offices in New Jersey partnered to investigate the case, which is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony J. Mahajan of the Narcotics/Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Unit in Newark.
