A spike in flu activity and limited supplies of vaccine and Tamiflu^® doses across the country have prompted Rx Response to move its operations to Alert status. Boston city officials recently declared a public health emergency and 47 states are reporting widespread flu activity. Tamiflu has been reported on the drug shortages list, and some pharmacies have begun compounding liquid dosage Tamiflu to meet demand. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) offers oral suspension compounding instructions. Additionally, flu vaccines, including pediatric doses, are limited in some areas.
