Rx Response Advises Organizations to Update Emergency Plans
In preparation for the 2010 hurricane season, Rx Response advises that organizations should ensure emergency plans are up to date. Specifically, organizations should ensure that:
- all organizational, emergency, and continuity plans are up to date and reflect current operating environments;
- personnel are trained and aware of emergency roles; and
- names and related contact information are updated on the RxResponse InfoCenter.
In addition, individuals can create, print out, and carry an Rx Response medication wallet card that provides vital medication information – including current medications, allergies, medical conditions, health care providers, and emergency contact – to assist with personal medication needs during a disaster. More information about emergency planning and obtaining medications during a declared disaster are available on the Rx Response Web site. Additional information may also be obtained by contacting Rx Response at admin@rxresponse.org.
