The emergency pharmacy status reporting tool operated by Rx Response now goes by an easy-to-remember name, Rx Open, with a matching URL, www.RxOpen.org. The Rx Open Web site helps emergency management teams and the general public to locate operating pharmacies in areas affected by natural disasters or public health emergencies. Under the former program name, Pharmacy Status Reporting Tool, the program successfully provided support to those affected by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Rx Response is a coalition of private sector and bio-pharmaceutical supply chain entities and helps to ensure continued access to medication during severe public health emergencies. Rx Response also operates Rx on the Run, an online tool that helps individuals create a wallet-sized medication card that documents prescriptions, dosages, and other important medical information.
