Recall of OTC Liquid Medicines for Children and Infants

Topics: Over the counter

McNeil Consumer Healthcare has initiated a voluntary recall of certain over-the-counter (OTC) liquid products for children and infants due to manufacturing deficiencies which may affect quality, purity, or potency, as explained in an FDA News Release. Tylenol®, Motrin®, Zyrtec®, and Benadryl® products are included in the recall. This recall is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse medical events. Though the potential for serious medical events is remote, FDA advises consumers who have purchased these recalled products to discontinue use as a precautionary measure. More information on the recall is available in a McNeil notice.
