Pre-Meeting Session on Ethics to Provide Entertaining Approach to CPE during NABP 105th Annual Meeting

Setting the stage for “NABP MIAMI: It’s Hot! Hot! Hot!,” the pre-meeting continuing pharmacy education (CPE) session “Maxims, Monarchy, and Sir Thomas More,” will offer attendees an entertaining and educational start to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) 105th Annual Meeting. The session will take place Saturday, May 16, from 1:30 - 4:30 pm, at the Hyatt Regency Miami Hotel, in Miami, FL.

This year’s pre-meeting CPE session, sponsored by Pearson VUE, provides attendees with an intimate view of Sir Thomas More’s dilemmas. More authored the controversial book, Utopia, in 1516 and is known by some as the quintessential Renaissance man. Featuring a performance by Graham Thatcher of Periaktos Productions, LLC, the session takes a look at More’s last hours prior to his execution as he explores moral conflicts between private conscience and public loyalty – an issue board of pharmacy members often face as they pursue their goals of protecting the public.

Following the performance, Jay Campbell, RPh, JD, executive director, North Carolina Board of Pharmacy, and Michael A. Moné, BS, JD, FAPhA, vice president anti-diversion and senior regulatory counsel, Cardinal Health, will facilitate a panel discussion based on More’s ethical dilemmas.
