New Mexico News: Excessive Pseudoephedrine Purchases?

Topics: Pseudoephedrine

Published in the March 2008 New Mexico Board of Pharmacy Newsletter

The New Mexico Board of Pharmacy designated Albuquerque Police Department Detective Brian Sallee as an agent of the Board. Detective Sallee is authorized to collect and copy information from each pharmacy’s Pseudoephedrine Purchase Log. Detective Sallee is authorized in any pharmacy licensed by the Board within New Mexico, not just within the Albuquerque city limits. The goal of this federally funded program is to apprehend individuals exceeding the purchase limits allowed by local, state, and federal law. The illicit pseudoephedrine is then used to make methamphetamine.
