New Anti-Meth Law to Require Self-Certification by Sellers of PSE Products
Signed into law by President Obama on October 12, 2010, the Combat Methamphetamine Enhancement Act of 2010 (HR 2923) amends the Controlled Substances Act to effectively require all regulated retail sellers of drug products containing methamphetamine precursors to submit to the Attorney General a self-certification that the seller understands and is in compliance with the related requirements for selling these drug products. The law also requires the Attorney General to develop a list of all self-certified individuals and to publish the list on the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Web site. Further, distributors of listed chemical products are required to sell only to self-certified regulated sellers.
