NABP to Receive Commissioner's Special Citation from FDA

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) has been selected to receive the Commissioner's Special Citation from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the Association's leadership in protecting the public from the emerging threat of counterfeit drugs through the Model Rules for Licensure of Wholesale Distributors, which are part of the Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.

FDA noted that the Association's Model Rules for Licensure of Wholesale Distributors protects the public from counterfeit drugs by allowing state regulators to enhance individual state regulatory safeguards. The citation will be presented at FDA's Agency Ceremony on Friday, May 7, 2004, in Gaithersburg, MD.
