NABP to Participate in National Interstate Data Sharing Meeting

Topics: Prescription monitoring program

NABP, along with Ohio and Mississippi, two of the 10 prescription monitoring programs participating in the NABP PMP InterConnectTM, will be attending a meeting organized by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) on Thursday, August 18. PMP administrators and staff were invited to Washington DC to determine whether a proposed data sharing architecture developed with BJA funding has widespread support of states with PMPs and whether it can be operationalized without excessive resource needs by those programs. NABP has been in frequent contact with BJA over the course of the deployment of the NABP PMP InterConnect system and is hopeful that the assembled group will be able to provide clarity to all PMP systems that are considering adopting interstate data sharing.
