NABP to Launch Pre-FPGEE

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) is proud to announce a new practice examination for those pharmacists preparing for the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination® (FPGEE®). The Pre-FPGEE™ is a Web-based practice examination that will help those candidates planning to sit for the FPGEE assess whether or not their educational level is equivalent to the United States' educational standards for pharmacists. The only FPGEE practice examination written and developed by NABP, the Pre-FPGEE will launch in the beginning of October.

Conveniently located on NABP's Web site, www.nabp.net, and also accessible through www.pre-fpgee.com, students can sit for the pre-examination 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any location with Internet access, such as home, school, work, or even a public library. The Pre-FPGEE consists of 66 questions and two different forms are available; time allowed for the examination is 85 minutes. At the conclusion of each practice examination, candidates will receive a score report with an estimated scaled score and range. Like other practice examinations, a candidate's score on the Pre-FPGEE is similar to what he or she can expect to receive on the FPGEE, but may not be the actual score attained, nor is it a guarantee of passing the actual examination. The fee to sit for the Pre-FPGEE is $50 per attempt.

"NABP decided to develop the Pre-FPGEE after the Association received much positive feedback from candidates about the Pre-NAPLEX™, NABP's practice examination for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination™," says NABP President Donna S. Wall. "As with the Pre-NAPLEX, the questions on the Pre-FPGEE are previously scored and calibrated items that have subsequently been retired."

Promissor, Inc, an expert in computer-based assessment examinations with offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, and London, will host the Pre-FPGEE. Providing knowledge measurement services to clients around the world, Promissor designs assessment solutions, provides test development services and delivery via multiple testing options, and offers comprehensive client support services.
