NABP To Hold Public Policy Discussion on Foreign Drug Importation at 100th Annual Meeting
In keeping with providing timely topics at its Annual Meetings, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) will host a public policy discussion on illegal importation of drugs at its 100th Annual Meeting and Centennial Celebration, April 24-27, 2004, at The Fairmont Chicago, in Chicago, IL. The continuing education (CE) session will feature public policy analysts, elected government officials, state board of pharmacy members, and others from government administrative agencies.
NABP is pleased to announce that Springfield, MA Former Mayor Michael J. Albano; Joseph L. Bast, president of The Heartland Institute; and Ronald Guse, Registrar of the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association, have all accepted the Association's invitation to sit on the panel discussion. Other invited guests include Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich; Boston, MA Mayor Thomas M. Menino; and Illinois Representative Rahm Emanuel. Confirmation from the speakers is still pending.
The joint CE program, "Drug Importation: A Public Policy Discussion," will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 AM on Monday, April 26. During the session panel members will converse about drug importation and its potential impact on public policy including the regulation of pharmacy. Attendees will also have the opportunity to comment and ask the panel questions.
