NABP's 99th Annual Meeting Offers Stimulating Optional Events to Attendees
The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®'s (NABP®) 99th Annual Meeting, "Continuing Professional Development: The Key to Your Future," which will be held May 3-7, 2003, at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia, PA, will showcase two exciting optional programs for board of pharmacy members and their spouses and guests: The Physick House and Philadelphia Museum of Art Highlights Tour and the Fun Run/Walk.
Optional Spouse/Guest Tour
Annual Meeting attendees and their spouses and guests will have the opportunity to attend the Physick House and Philadelphia Museum of Art Highlights Tour on Tuesday, May 6, from 9 AM to noon. The first stop of the tour takes visitors to the Physick House, located in the delightfully restored Society Hill neighborhood, which features many mansions, "trinity" houses, churches and taverns, cemeteries and gardens, and the open market for the south side of town. Architecture enthusiasts will enjoy the tour of this unique freestanding Federal-style house.
On the next stop of the tour, attendees will browse through the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Built in a striking neoclassical design and founded in 1876, the museum contains some of the most important collections in the United States. The final destination of the Optional Spouse/Guest Tour will enable attendees to experience the "new" art of Philadelphia while taking a scenic driving tour of the "Champs Elysees of America," the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Participants will hear commentary on the many examples of public art, a by-product of the oldest One Percent Rule in the country.
Fun Run/Walk
Annual Meeting attendees and guests looking for a way to jump-start their day can participate in the annual Fun/Run Walk on Tuesday, May 6, at 6:30 AM. Join one of NABP's fitness experts on either a run or a slower-paced jog through historical Philadelphia. Each guide will be sensitive to the group's fitness level and desired intensity. NABP's walking guide will point out interesting sights, architecture, and public art highlights.
