NABP Re-Elects Lloyd K. Jessen, RPh, JD, to Serve as Member of Executive Committee at Association’s 103rd Annual Meeting
Lloyd K. Jessen, RPh, JD, was re-elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 5, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association’s 103rd Annual Meeting, May 19-22, 2007, in Portland,OR.
Executive director/secretary of the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners since 1990, Mr Jessen first joined the Board as chief investigator in 1987. Prior to joining the Board, Mr Jessen was a staff attorney for the Iowa Supreme Court in addition to working as a pharmacist in the hospital, community, and retail settings. He is also a pharmacy drug law lecturer at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Mr Jessen, whose first term on the NABP Executive Committee was a one-year term, has actively served on the Association’s committees and task forces including the Committee on Constitution and Bylaws. He was also a member of several NABP task forces including the Task Force on the Development of an Equitable Degree Upgrade Mechanism and the Task Force on Electronic Transmission of Data Between Prescriber and Pharmacist.
In addition, he has coordinated and served on numerous advisory groups in Iowa, including the Iowa Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Advisory Committee, the Iowa Drug Wholesale Advisory Task Force, the Iowa Pharmacy Technician Working Group, and the Iowa Pharmacy Recovery Network.
Mr Jessen received his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and his doctor of jurisprudence degree from Drake University Law School.
