NABP Provides AWARxE Information to Expo Attendees

Through the AWARxE consumer protection program, NABP continues to educate the public on the dangers of buying medicine over the Internet, providing consumers with the information they need to protect themselves and their families from the risks posed by rogue Web sites.

In March 2010, NABP had the opportunity to discuss the AWARxE consumer protection program with pharmacy practitioners, technicians, educators, students, independent store owners, scientists, and leading figures in the practice of pharmacy while exhibiting at the American Pharmacists Association Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, DC. Additionally, NABP is reaching out to the senior citizen population, providing information needed to make informed choices when purchasing medications, especially online, and safe alternative resources for prescription drug discounts. In late May, the Association participated in the Fifty Plus Health and Wealth Expo in New York, NY, and this August, NABP plans to exhibit at the Senior Lifestyle Expo in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
