NABP Pays Tribute to 2004-2005 Honorary President William L.‘Buck' Stevens During Its 101st Annual Meeting
During 2004-2005, NABP has been privileged to have William L. "Buck" Stevens, RPh, as its honorary president. NABP will pay tribute to Stevens during the Annual Awards Dinner from 7 to 10:30 PM on May 24, 2005, at the Association's 101st Annual Meeting, held in New Orleans, LA, May 21-24.
Throughout the years, Stevens has served on many of NABP's committees and task forces including the Task Force on Expanded Use of the Internet in Pharmacy Practice and Regulation from 2000 to 2001, the 2001 Task Force on Privacy and Confidentiality, and the 2002 Task Force on Evaluation and Modification of NABP's Constitution and Bylaws. Presently, Stevens is the senior vice president for Governmental Affairs at PDX-Rx.com. Previous to this position, he was the executive director of the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy from 1994 to 2002. Throughout his more than 30-year career, Stevens has received several honors including being listed in Marquis Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, International Who's Who of Professionals, and Marquis Who's Who in South and Southeast (United States). In 1998, he was chosen as one of the 50 most influential pharmacists by American Druggist magazine. Furthermore, while Stevens was the executive director, the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy received the 1999 Fred T. Mahaffey Award at NABP's 95th Annual Meeting.
