NABP Offers Educational Presentation Area, NABP/USP Breakfast, and Hospitality Suite at Its 101st Annual Meeting
As is tradition, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) will once again offer its Annual Meeting attendees programming that provides education as well as networking. The Educational Presentation Area during the 101st Annual Meeting, held May 21-24, 2005, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, LA, serves as an educational forum for meeting attendees to experience the newest technological products and devices shaping pharmacy practice today. The third annual Poster Session allows the state boards of pharmacy and colleges and schools of pharmacy to discuss the latest issues pharmacists are facing. Meeting participants can also discuss these topics while networking at the Hospitality Suite. Also returning to the programming is the popular NABP/United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Breakfast.
Educational Presentation Area Offers Attendees a Sneak Preview Representatives participating in the Presentation area will be available to discuss their products and services from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday, May 21, and from 8 AM to noon on Sunday, May 22. Products that will be displayed include dispensing equipment, computer software packages, online services, programs that focus on patient compliance and management, wholesale distributor innovations, and central fill technologies.
Viewing times for the third annual Poster Session are Saturday, May 21, from 1 to 5 PM, and Sunday, May 22, from 8 AM to noon. The Poster Session allows state boards of pharmacy to share ideas about their best or most noteworthy legislative issues, policy development, or disciplinary cases. Or, boards may present research results from studies they have performed. Colleges and schools of pharmacy are also encouraged to participate in the Poster Session. Previous Poster Session topics ranged from balancing patient safety and professional development, survey results, and an ambulatory root cause analysis tool.
Network at the Hospitality Suite Registrants and their guests can take a moment to relax and meet with colleagues and friends in the Hospitality Suite. Members of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy will host the event as well as provide recommendations on their favorite New Orleans sites and attractions. The Hospitality Suite will be open from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday, May 21. Refreshments will be provided.
NABP/USP Breakfast A returning favorite, the NABP/USP Breakfast has been a meeting event for 13 years. Held from 7 to 8 AM on Monday, May 23, the breakfast serves as a forum for topics of interest to both organizations.
