NABP Launches Enhanced NABPLAW Online
On May 13, 2005, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) launched the updated NABPLAW® Online, the Association's Web-based, specialized, subscription database that contains pharmacy statutes and regulations from all 50 state boards of pharmacy as well as the Guam and Puerto Rico boards of pharmacy. This database serves as a reference tool for anyone researching the current individual state pharmacy laws. Pharmaceutical companies, state boards of pharmacy, and law firms are the top three parties who subscribe to the database.
NABPLAW Online can display different sets of frames, or windows, to view the Table of Contents (TOC) and the Documents, the Search Results List (Hit List), or the Search Forms, either individually or in combination. Regardless of the frame selected, a series of frame set selection tabs is always located along the top of the browser window.
In order to meet each subscriber's needs, NABPLAW Online now contains the following new features:
- Document Tab – shows the text of the particular document highlighted in the TOC
- Results Tab – shows the Hit List, after having executed a search
- Document/Results Tab – shows a combination of the document and search results
- Previous Match – shows the previous match in the document
- Next Match – shows the next match in the document
- Clear Highlights – clears the highlighted keyword(s) when viewing the Hit document
- Print – prints the current document
- Bookmark – saves the current document as a bookmark
- Options – displays placement of search results hit numbers
- Document Excerpts – shows either short, medium, or long excerpts
- Save Search As – shows a box for entering name for search
- Manage Saved Searches – rename or delete saved searches
- Choose Saved Search – lists all saved searches
- Changes to the Table of Contents include:
- JAVA – used as a default for navigating the table of contents and documents
- HTML – may be selected by users with older browsers, to replace JAVA
