NABP Elects John R. Dorvee, Jr, PharmD, to Serve as Treasurer at Association's 102nd Annual Meeting

John R. Dorvee, Jr, PharmD, was elected to serve as treasurer of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association's 102nd Annual Meeting, April 8-11, 2006, in San Francisco, CA. Prior to the election, Dr Dorvee was a member of the Executive Committee representing District I.

Dr Dorvee is currently chairperson of the Vermont Board of Pharmacy; he was the Board's designated item writer and item reviewer for NABP's Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® for five years.

Currently, Dr Dorvee is a critical care clinical pharmacist at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Before joining the Medical Center, Dr Dorvee served as a community pharmacist. He was also director of quality assurance for Foster/Royal Care, a long-term care pharmacy provider. As such, he developed an intravenous program as well as staff development and nursing education programs. Previously, he has also held the positions of oncology sales specialist and sales manager for Option Care of Vermont.

Dr Dorvee served on NABP's Task Force on Active/Associate Membership. He is a member of other professional organizations including the Vermont Health-System Pharmacists Association. In addition, he was the co-founder of the Vermont Recovering Professionals Program.
