NABP Elects Elizabeth Scott “Scotti” Russell, RPh, to Serve as Member of Executive Committee at Association’s 103rd Annual Meeting

Elizabeth Scott “Scotti” Russell, RPh, was elected to serve a three-year member term, representing District 2, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association’s 103rd Annual Meeting, May 19-22, 2007, in Portland, OR.

The executive director of the Virginia Board of Pharmacy, Ms Russell began her employment with the Board in 1982 as pharmacy investigator/inspector before being named executive director in 1991. Prior to joining the Board, she served as a pharmacist in the institutional and community practice settings.

An active member of NABP, Ms Russell has served on many Association committees and task forces including the Task Force on Standardizing Student Pharmacist Experiential Requirements, the Task Force on E-Pedigree Requirements and the Committee on Constitution and Bylaws. In addition to her contributions to the Board and NABP, she is a commissioned officer of the United States Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration.

Among her other activities, Ms Russell participated on the US Pharmacopeia Packaging, Storage, and Distribution Project Team and contributed as a member of the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws, Prescription Monitoring Work Group. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of State Controlled Substance Authorities and of the Virginia Pharmacists Association.

Ms Russell graduated from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy.
