NABP 2002-2003 Executive Committee Installed at 98th Annual Meeting in Phoenix
Delegates to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) 98th Annual Meeting, held May 18-22, 2002, in Phoenix, Ariz, elected individuals to fill the president-elect, treasurer, and open member positions on the Association's 2002-2003 Executive Committee.
At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, President-elect John A. Fiacco, member of the New York State Board of Pharmacy, assumed the position of NABP president, and immediate Past President Richard K. "Mick" Markuson, executive director of the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy, became the chairman of the Executive Committee.
The newly elected officers for NABP are President-elect Donna S. Wall, who is a member of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, and Treasurer Donna M. Horn, secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy. Michael A. Moné, executive director of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, and Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy Executive Director Charles R. Young were each elected to serve a three-year member term on the Executive Committee. The other members of the 2002-2003 NABP Executive Committee who are currently fulfilling their terms are Howard C.Anderson, Jr, executive director of the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy; B. Belaire Bourg, Jr, member of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy; Dennis K. McAllister, a member of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy; and S. Patricia "Tris" McSherry, chairperson of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.

President: John A. Fiacco, RPh
John A. Fiacco, a member of the New York Board of Pharmacy and a representative of District II, automatically assumed the position of president after completing his one-year term president-elect. At the conclusion of his year as president, he will assume the chairman position of NABP Executive Committee. Mr Fiacco also served one year as NABP treasurer and as a member of the Executive Committee. Mr Fiacco has been active on many NABP Committees. He has been a member of the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination Review Committee since its inception in 1997, and chaired NABP's Committee on Resolutions in 1997 and 1998. Richard K. "Mick" Markuson, executive director of the Idaho Board of Pharmacy since 1988, assumed his position as chairman of the NABP Executive Committee after completing one-year terms as both president and president-elect. Prior to his term as president-elect, Mr Markuson, who represented District VII on the EC, was a member of NABP's Executive Committee for three years. Active in numerous NABP committees and task forces, Mr Markuson graduated from the North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the practice of pharmacy including the Wyeth-Ayerst Bowl of Hygeia Award.President-elect: Donna S. Wall, PharmD
Donna S. Wall, a member of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, was elected NABP president-elect at the Association's 98th Annual Meeting. Dr Wall, who represents District IV on the Executive Committee, is the past treasurer of the Association and also served two years as a member of the Executive Committee. She has been an active participant on various Association task forces. She is currently a clinical pharmacist for the adult critical care unit at Indiana University Hospital, Clarian Health Partners. Dr Wall received her BS in pharmacy from Butler University College of Pharmacy and a PharmD from Purdue University School of Pharmacy.Treasurer: Donna M. Horn, RPh
Donna M. Horn, secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, was elected NABP treasurer during the Association's 98th Annual Meeting. She assumed this position following two three-year terms on the Executive Committee representing District I. Ms Horn was the Executive Committee liaison to numerous task forces. She is a pharmacy specialist for Brooks Pharmacy. Ms Horn earned her pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.Executive Committee Member: Howard C. Howard C. Anderson, Jr, executive director of the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy, is serving the second year of a three-year member term as District V's representative on the NABP Executive Committee. An active participant on committees and task forces, he is also the recipient of several awards including the Bowl of Hygeia, the Al Doerr Service Award, and North Dakota Society of Health-System Pharmacists Pharmacist of the Year award. A member of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy since 1984, B. Belaire Bourg, Jr, is serving the third year of a three-year term as a member of the Executive Committee. Mr Bourg, who represents District VI, is a pharmacy director for the Eckerd Corporation, and earned his BS in pharmacy from Northeast Louisiana University in 1978.Executive Committee Member: Dennis K. Dennis K. McAllister, a member of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy, is serving the second year of a three-year term as a member of the NABP Executive Committee. From District VIII, he is the assistant dean for the Doctoral Affairs at the Midwestern University at the Glendale College of Pharmacy. Michael A. Moné, executive director of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, was elected to a three-year term as a member of the NABP EC representing District III. Prior to his tenure with the Kentucky Board, he was the assistant attorney general at the Florida Office of the Attorney General and a staff attorney with the US Pharmacopeia. In addition to serving on numerous NABP committees and task forces, Mr Moné served as the speaker of the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) House of Delegates. S. Patricia "Tris" McSherry, chairperson of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy, is serving a second year of a three-year term as a member of the NABP Executive Committee. Ms McSherry, who represents District VIII, received her pharmacy degree from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. Charles R. Young, executive director of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, was elected to serve a three-year term on the Executive Committee representing District I. Mr Young began his tenure with the Massachusetts Board in 1985 as a compliance agent. He assumed the position of executive director in 1997.
