Mississippi Implements Law Requiring Rx for PSE Products

July 15, 2010 1:23 pm

Patients in Mississippi must present a prescription in order to purchase pseudoephedrine (PSE) products as of July 1, 2010. The new law designates PSE – the key precursor ingredient in methamphetamine production – as a Schedule III controlled substance and aims to curb the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine. A summary of the new regulation (PDF) is available for download from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy Web site.
