Massachusetts Amends PMP Regulations to Require Identification for Additional Rx

The Massachusetts Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) made changes to requirements for data and customer ID collection that went into effect January 1, 2011. The regulatory amendments expand upon current requirements to include:

  • Reporting of prescription records for Schedules II-V
  • Collection and reporting of customer ID information for Schedules II-V
  • Reporting by out-of-state pharmacies that deliver a prescription to a person in Massachusetts, in addition to MA pharmacies
  • Reporting no less frequently than weekly
