Kansas Conscience Clause Bill Signed Into Law

A new law in Kansas will allow pharmacists to refuse to dispense medications they believe might cause an abortion. The Health Care Rights of Conscience Act, signed into law by Governor Sam Brownback on May 14, 2012, “will bar anyone from being required to prescribe or administer a drug they ‘reasonably believe’ might result in the termination of a pregnancy,” as reported by The Kansas City Star.
