John R. Dorvee, Jr, PharmD, Elected to Serve as Member on Executive Committee at NABP's 101st Annual Meeting
John R. Dorvee, Jr, PharmD, was elected to serve a two-year member term, District 1, on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during its 101st Annual Meeting, May 21-24, 2005, in New Orleans, LA.
Dr Dorvee is currently chairman of the Vermont Board of Pharmacy; as a member, he was the Board's designated item writer and item reviewer for NABP's Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® for five years. He is an active member of several other organizations including the Vermont Health-System Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In addition, he was the co-founder of the Vermont Recovering Professionals Program.
Currently, Dr Dorvee is a critical care clinical pharmacist at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Before joining the Medical Center, Dr Dorvee served as a community pharmacist at pharmacies in Vermont. He was also director of quality assurance for Foster/Royal Care, a long-term care pharmacy provider. As such, he developed an intravenous program as well as staff development and nursing education programs. Other positions he has held include oncology sales specialist and sales manager for Option Care of Vermont.
Dr Dorvee earned his bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy and his doctor of pharmacy degree from Howard University.
