John A. Fiacco, RPh, Assumes Chairmanship of 2003-2004 NABP Executive Committee
John A. Fiacco, RPh, immediate past president of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®), assumed the position of chairman of the Association's Executive Committee at the conclusion of NABP's 99th Annual Meeting, May 3-7, 2003, in Philadelphia, PA. Past chairman and currently a member of the New York Board of Pharmacy, Mr Fiacco served one-year terms as the Association's president, president-elect, and treasurer, and three years as a member of the Executive Committee.
During his tenure as president, NABP has continued to address the increasing concern over foreign drug importation; saw the participation in the co-sponsorship of successful workshops with the Federation of State Medical Boards and the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment; saw the success of the first Fall Educational Conference in November 2002; and unveiled the online Pre-NAPLEX™, a practice examination for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination™.
Mr Fiacco's involvement with NABP traces back to 1997, when he served as a member of the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® Committee. He also served as the chairman of both the Committee on Resolutions and the Committee on the NABP Annual Meeting in 1997 and 1998; respectively.
In addition to serving on the NABP Executive Committee, Mr Fiacco is the vice president of Central Fill Pharmacy for Cardinal Health in Dublin, OH, where he researches and prepares Central Fill's business plan, defines the project scope, and researches and verifies technology concepts, among other duties. Mr Fiacco holds a bachelor of science in pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy.
