Jerry Moore, JD, RPh, Assumes Chairmanship of NABP Executive Committee following 97th Annual Meeting

Jerry Moore, immediate past president of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), was installed as chairman of the Association's Executive Committee at the conclusion of NABP's 97th Annual Meeting, May 5-9, 2001, in Seattle, Wash. Mr Moore, executive director of the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy for nine years, previously served one-year terms as the Association's president-elect and treasurer, and four years as a member of the Executive Committee.

During his term as president, Mr Moore sought to further NABP's mission to assist the state boards of pharmacy in their efforts to protect the public health and welfare. During his term, NABP compled the Disciplinary Clearinghouse Data Entry Module, created a customer service call center, and computerized the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination™ (FPGEE®) and Disease State Management (DSM) examinations.

Throughout his association with NABP, Mr Moore has always championed those issues that truly affect the public health and welfare. His involvement with NABP began in 1992, when he was appointed to NABP's Committee on the Federal Drug Law Examination™ Passing Standards. He has also served on the Task Force to Study Pharmacists' Workload, the Committee on Law Enforcement/Legislation, and the Committee on Resolutions.

Mr Moore is the recipient of the Wyeth-Ayerst Bowl of Hygeia award and the McWorter School of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumnus Award from Samford University. He received his law degree last year from the Birmingham School of Law.
