With Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) Medication Safety Alert! publications making a significant impact on preventing medication errors, the organization will soon be providing a new resource tailored to long-term care facilities (LTCFs). ISMP indicates that errors reported to the ISMP National Medication Errors Reporting Program include reports from LTCFs. Thus, the organization will launch in July a new Medication Safety Alert! publication – Long-Term Care Advise-ERR – to provide medication error prevention information tailored to assist staff and providers in LTCFs.
