INTERPOL Partners With Pharmaceutical Industry on New Anti-Counterfeit Initiative

To enhance the law enforcement community’s response to pharmaceutical crime around the world, INTERPOL has entered a landmark agreement with 29 pharmaceutical companies. Through the agreement, INTERPOL’s Pharmaceutical Crime Programme will be established and will focus on preventing drug counterfeiting and dismantling organized crime networks associated with counterfeit drug activity. INTERPOL’s agreement with the pharmaceutical companies “forms a bridge between the public and private sectors and will assist  INTERPOL and each of its 190 member countries to more effectively tackle the problem of medical product counterfeiting,” stated INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble in a press release.
