All Indiana pharmacists are required to complete thirty (30) hours of continuing education (CE) per renewal period. CE must have been obtained between the period of January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2005. Newly licensed pharmacists need not complete any hours for the first six (6) months of licensure. If licensed more than six (6) months but less than two (2) years, you must complete 1.25 hours per month. A minimum of twenty-four (24) hours must be pharmacy-related. A maximum of six (6) hours can be business-, management-, or computer-related. At least fifteen (15) hours must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. For information on accepted credits please refer to Rule 26 of Title 856 of the Indiana Administrative Rules, which are available on the Indiana Board of Pharmacy’s Web site. Pharmacists are required to retain a record of CE for four (4) years from the end of the biennium for which the CE was applied in order to provide copies of certificates upon request for the Board’s random audit of CE compliance.
