Idaho News: Future Board Meeting: Revamping Project, April 8, 2009: Pocatello
Published in the March 2009 Idaho State Board of Pharmacy Newsletter
The Idaho State legislature has appropriated $255,000 to rewrite the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy law book over the next three years. The Board has contracted with Lynette Berggren, paralegal, and Attorney Samuel Hoagland to assist in this endeavor. In the next 30 months, literally every rule and statute will come under scrutiny. Topics not currently located within our law book will be addressed. Our rules will be re-codified or placed into a new working order. A new table of contents with recognizable terms will be established, as well as an index of terms. Grammar and punctuation will be corrected, creating uniformity in style. The Board would like to partner with all interested parties on this enormous project. Informal negotiated rulemaking will be utilized, where individuals, associations, and businesses will be invited to participate in their areas of expertise. Please be proactive and communicate your desire to participate by contacting the Board office, a Board member, or your pharmacy association. Feel free to contact Mark Johnston, Board executive director, to discuss ideas or the scheduling of your particular issue on a Board meeting agenda. A public comment period has also been added to all Board meetings, where short, unscheduled comments are welcomed. You are urged to take an active role in your profession!
