FPGEE Fully Recovers After 2002 Security Breach
The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) will administer the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination® (FPGEE®) to more than 2,000 candidates on June 26, 2004, in New York and Illinois, bringing the total number of administrations to 6,400 over the last 18 months. This is a remarkable recovery following the shutdown of the FPGEE due to a security breach in October 2002.
"The recovery of the FPGEE has been accomplished by great teamwork on the part of the item writers, FPGEE Review Committee, and NABP staff," said NABP President Donna M. Horn. "Their job has become progressively more complicated due to an increasing number of applicants submitting fraudulent, counterfeit, or forged documents."
Applicants submitting falsified documents are causing long delays in the processing of some FPGEE applications. If fraud is discovered, NABP will seek all civil and criminal recourses.
