FDA Training Videos Provide Timely Drug Information to Pharmacists

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Drug Info Rounds, a series of training videos, provides important and timely drug information to practicing clinical and community pharmacists so they can help patients make better medication decisions. In the latest Drug Info Rounds video, pharmacists discuss the new recommendations in the drug labels of Long-Acting Beta-Agonists (LABAs), and provide ways pharmacists can help patients use LABAs safely in the treatment of asthma. FDA required manufacturers to revise their drug labels because of an increased risk of severe exacerbation of asthma symptoms, leading to hospitalizations, in pediatric and adult patients, as well as death in some patients using LABAs for the treatment of asthma. Drug Info Rounds is developed with contributions from pharmacists in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Communications, and Division of Drug Information.
