FDA Online Videos Provide Timely Drug Information to Pharmacists

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Drug Info Rounds, a series of online training videos, provides important and timely drug information to practicing clinical and community pharmacists so they can help patients make better medication decisions. In the latest Drug Info Rounds video, pharmacists discuss new safety information about a possible increased risk of fractures of the hip, wrist, and spine with the use of proton pump inhibitors. The video also presents strengths and limitations of the studies and recommendations for pharmacists. Additional Drug Info Rounds videos will be posted in September 2010. Drug Info Rounds is developed with contributions from pharmacists in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Communications, and Division of Drug Information.
