FDA Grant Will Support Medication Adherence Campaign

FDA has announced that it will grant funds to the National Consumers League (NCL) to support a program that aims to improve medication adherence in the US. According to a Federal Register notice, the funds, administered by the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, will be used to “develop and lead a groundbreaking national campaign to raise consumers' awareness of the importance of good medication adherence and provide tools to prescribers to help their patients use their medications in the most safe and efficacious manner.” The notice also indicates that NCL has brought together a public-private coalition that includes more than 110 stakeholder organizations to develop and implement the campaign.
