Title: Emergency Preparedness, Response, and the US Drug Distribution System
Action: Passed
Whereas, the recent occurrence of natural disasters, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, have tested the viability of the medical response systems at local, state, and federal levels; and
Whereas, the United States drug distribution system was severely impacted by said natural disasters causing delays and disruptions in therapy of those who were impacted by said natural disasters; and
Whereas, local, state, and federal disaster relief agencies, along with the support of private enterprises, made a concerted effort to provide medical and pharmaceutical assistance for those impacted individuals;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NABP continue its efforts in collaboration with government agencies, national professional associations, and industry representatives in the development of a response to natural and man-made disasters that affect the US drug distribution system.
