E-Prescribing Data to be Collected and Reported by APMS PEER System
The Pharmacy and Provider e-Prescribing Experience Reporting (PEER) Portal has been re-launched by the Alliance for Patient Medication Safety (APMS), and will collect data from pharmacies on electronic prescribing and generate reports and feedback intended to improve the e-prescribing process. Using the new PEER Web portal, pharmacists and providers may submit data to a Web-based questionnaire. The data will be collected to “address the continuing challenges in e-prescribing encountered by pharmacists and providers” and “to provide impetus for further improvements in training, certification standards and technology.” The APMS is a federally listed Patient Safety Organization, and reports will be supported by a grant from the Community Pharmacy Foundation. More information is available in an APMS press release (PDF).
