Donna S. Wall, PharmD, Becomes Chairperson of NABP's 2004-2005 Executive Committee

Donna S. Wall, PharmD, immediate past president of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®), assumed the office of chairperson of the Association's 2004-2005 Executive Committee at the conclusion of NABP's 100th Annual Meeting and Centennial Celebration held April 24-27, 2004, in Chicago, IL. Dr Wall, who is also a member of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, served one-year terms as the Association's president, president-elect, and treasurer, and two years as an Executive Committee member.

During her presidency, Dr Wall guided the growth and expansion of NABP's programs, defining the Association with a successful year. Her accomplishments include steering the creation of NABP's new Patient Safety Initiative and overseeing the development of the Pharmacist Self-Assessment Mechanism™ (PSAM™), one of the components of the Association's Continuing Professional Development program. In addition, the California State Board of Pharmacy and the Florida Board of Pharmacy became active members of NABP, raising the number of active members to 53 boards.

Since 1996, Dr Wall has been involved in numerous NABP committees and task forces, serving as the Executive Committee liaison to the Task Force on Privacy and Confidentiality and the Task Force on Drug Diversion Through Institutional Outlets.

In addition to serving on NABP's Executive Committee, Dr Wall is a clinical pharmacist at Indiana University Hospital. She is also a member of other professional societies including the Indiana Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Indiana Pharmacy Alliance, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr Wall received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Butler University College of Pharmacy and holds a doctor of pharmacy degree from Purdue University School of Pharmacy.
