Donna M. Horn, RPh, Named President-elect During NABP's 99th Annual Meeting

Donna M. Horn, RPh, president of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, was named president-elect of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association's 99th Annual Meeting, May 3-7, 2003, in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to the election, Ms Horn served one year as treasurer and two three-year terms as a member of the NABP Executive Committee.

Ms Horn's term as president-elect will end at the conclusion of NABP's 100th Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, in April 2004, at which point she will assume the position of NABP president for one year followed by one year as chairperson of the Executive Committee.

NABP's new president-elect has served on many of the Association's task forces and committees including the Task Force on Privacy, the Budget and Finance Committee, the Committee on Constitution and Bylaws Committee, and the Task Force on the Standardization of Technicians' Role and Competencies. She has also served as the Executive Committee liaison to the Advisory Committee on Examinations.

Other professional affiliations include the Institute of Safe Medication Practices where she serves as a contributing editor for the Safety Alert community newsletter, the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association, the American Society for Pharmacy Law, and the American Pharmacists Association.

Currently, Ms Horn is the manager of regulatory affairs for Brooks Pharmacy. Before joining Brooks, she served as the regional pharmacy manager for Osco Drug. Ms Horn received a bachelor of science in pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
