Dennis K. McAllister, RPh, FASHP, Elected NABP Treasurer During Association's 99th Annual Meeting

Dennis K. McAllister, RPh, FASHP, vice president of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy, was elected treasurer of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) during the Association's 99th Annual Meeting, May 3-7, 2003, in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to the election, Mr McAllister was a member of the NABP Executive Committee.

Mr McAllister has been a member of the Arizona Board since 1996. He has served the Association well, participating in NABP's Task Force on Quality of Internship 1999-2000 and NABP's Committee on Law Enforcement Legislation 2000-2001. He is also a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Currently, Mr McAllister is the assistant dean for Pre-Doctoral Affairs at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy Glendale Campus. His professional experience includes 17 years as director of pharmacy for not-for-profit community hospitals; four years managing ambulatory, clinical pharmacy practice; and five years managing home infusion hospice practice.

Other honors Mr McAllister has received include the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Innovations in Teaching Award in 2002, the Arizona Pharmacy Association Faculty Excellence in Pharmacy Administration Award in 2000; Preceptor of the Year, University of Arizona College of Pharmacy; and he was designated a Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. McAllister received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota.
