DEA to Hold Public Meeting on Drug Disposal Procedures
DEA will hold a public meeting to discuss procedures for the surrender of unwanted controlled substances by ultimate users and long term care facilities on January 19-20, 2011. The information collected will be useful to DEA in the development of regulations to implement the Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010. DEA invites all interested persons, including ultimate users, pharmacies, law enforcement, reverse distributors, and other third parties to express their views at the meeting or by written comment concerning the most safe and effective method of disposal of controlled substances consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the Secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010. Information for requesting to present at the meeting may be accessed by using the advanced search feature on the Federal Register Web site, checking the box for "2010 FR, vol 75," and conducting a search for "80536." Requests to present must be received by January 7, 2011. Requests to attend the meeting and written comments must be received by January 12, 2011.
