DEA Seeks Comments on Dispensing Controlled Substances at LTCFs

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking comments regarding whether or not current regulations on the dispensing of controlled substances to residents residing at long term care facilities (LTCFs) should be revised. DEA posted the notice in the June 29 Federal Register as part of its efforts to determine if revisions would be feasible and would meet the goal of making it easier for residents of LTCFs to receive controlled substance medications. The notice includes a series of 56 questions designed to elicit public comment. Comments must be received by August 30, 2010.

Background information and submission requirements are provided in Docket No. DEA–337N (PDF).
