CDC Promotes Continued Flu Vaccination Efforts
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is coordinating National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), December 5-11, 2010, to promote the importance of continuing influenza vaccination. CDC is providing print literature, Web tools, and media toolkits on the CDC Web site, aiming these resources to public health professionals, health care professionals, health advocates, communities, and families. CDC also provides a list of resources about state and local NIVW events. CDC reminds citizens that the current universal flu vaccine recommendation encourages everyone six months of age and older to be vaccinated. “Each day of National Influenza Vaccination Week is designated to highlight the importance for certain groups such as families, older adults, and people with high risk conditions like diabetes, asthma and heart problems, to get vaccinated,” states CDC.
